Karen, LCSW Co-Founder, Heart of the Matter Wellness | Director & Owner, Matters of the Heart Counseling Karen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a career dedicated to expanding quality, compassionate mental health care. As the Director and Owner of Matters of the Heart Counseling, she specializes in adoption, substance use disorders, and biofeedback—helping clients unlock deeper healing through specialized, evidence-based practices. Throughout her years of clinical work, Karen saw firsthand how transformative biofeedback could be, but she also noticed a critical barrier: the financial gap. Specialized therapies were often out of reach for the people who needed them most. After exploring numerous funding and grant pathways, Karen and her team realized that the existing resources were simply not accessible or sustainable enough to meet the need.
Refusing to let cost stand in the way of care, Karen co-founded Heart of the Matter Wellness to create the solution. Supported by generous local businesses and community donors, Heart of the Matter Wellness directly bridges the financial gap, making biofeedback and essential mental health services accessible to all.
In addition to her clinical leadership, Karen is a passionate speaker who regularly presents on mental wellness, attachment, and the life-changing impact of biofeedback.
