Parenting is one of life's greatest joys—and one of its greatest challenges. Every parent wants the very best for their child, but raising a child who has experienced trauma, foster care, or adoption often requires specialized knowledge and support. At Heart of the Matter Wellness we provide compassionate, practical parent coaching designed specifically for adoptive families.
How the Program Works
We provide direct adoption assistance services of support groups, in office or in home parent coaching, and community education. Services are available to anyone regardless of ability to pay.
Support Groups: Virtual and in person support groups offered across South Central PA.
Parent Coaching: Benefit from the lived experience of Elaine Shenk, Certified Mental Health Coach, Certified TBRI Trainer, and Adoptive Parent. Elaine will walk beside you in your journey and provide services in office or in home.
Community Education: If you're part of an organization or church that would benefit from learning more about adoption, trauma, and ways to support your family, Elaine will provide professional education seminars.
Cost
Each service is underwritten by generous donors allowing us to provide services as significantly reduced rates.
Support Groups: FREE or Utilize SWAN Post Perm Supports
Parent Coaching: In Office or Virtual $105
In Home $175 an hour
