Welcome to Heart of the Matter Wellness in Gordonville! As part of our commitment to accessible, high-quality mental health care, we are proud to offer individual counseling services led by Master’s-level clinical interns.

Compassionate, High-Quality Counseling Services

Our Master’s-level interns are advanced graduate students completing their final, intensive clinical training. They bring fresh perspectives, modern therapeutic techniques, and deep dedication to helping you navigate life’s challenges.

When you choose to work with a Master’s-level intern at our Gordonville office for individual counseling, you receive high-touch, thoughtful care tailored to your unique goals in a warm, welcoming space.

Benefits of Working with a Master’s-Level Intern

  • High Accessibility & Affordability: Intern services are offered at significantly reduced rates, making quality mental health support achievable without financial strain.

  • Cutting-Edge Knowledge: Interns are actively engaged in ongoing academic study, bringing the latest evidence-based practices, research, and therapeutic approaches directly into your sessions.

  • Supercharged Support & Dual Expertise: When you work with an intern, you benefit from a team approach. Master's-level interns are supervised at a minimum of weekly by experienced clinicians, ensuring your treatment plan receives regular, high-level clinical guidance and oversight.

  • Generous Time & Attention: Interns typically carry smaller caseloads than established full-time therapists, allowing them to invest deeper preparation, focus, and energy into every single session.

  • Warmth & Passion: Graduate interns are deeply invested in their clinical work, bringing genuine enthusiasm, empathy, and care to your therapeutic journey.

What We Support

Our Gordonville interns provide individual therapy across a wide range of needs, including:

  • Anxiety and stress management

  • Depression and mood support

  • Life transitions and career stress

  • Self-esteem and identity development

  • Relationship and communication guidance

How the Program Works

Contact Us:  Complete the contact form indicating your desire to work with an intern for individual counseling.  We will reach out to you and do a phone consultation to talk more about your need.  Students are learning and as a result, not all mental health concerns are appropriate for an intern.  Our interns do not provide couples counseling.  If it is determined the presenting challenges you are facing are more than an intern is ready to support, we will assist you in finding alternative providers.

Cost: $50 a session

Ages: Our interns work with ages 8+

Financial Assistance:  If you receive medical assistance or demonstrate a financial need, you may apply for a reduced rate.
